The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 2026. The prestigious global event will be hosted by LATAM Airlines, the largest airline group in Latin America.
Bringing together the CEOs and senior executives of over 300 IATA member airlines, along with key industry stakeholders and media, the AGM is aviation’s most important annual gathering. The 2026 edition marks a return to Brazil after over a decade and underscores the region’s growing influence in the global aviation landscape.
Rio de Janeiro, with its iconic beaches, vibrant culture, and strategic location, provides an ideal setting for global aviation leaders to address critical challenges and opportunities, including sustainability, digital transformation, and regional connectivity.
Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines, expressed pride in hosting the event: “It’s an honor to welcome the global aviation community to Brazil. We look forward to showcasing Latin America’s potential and resilience.”
This event reinforces Brazil’s position as a key hub in international air travel and is expected to boost local tourism and business travel in the region.
