Confins Airport Soars: A Hub of Growth in H1 2025

The first half of 2025 has marked a period of remarkable expansion for Confins Airport (BH Airport), solidifying its position as a burgeoning travel and logistics hub. The airport witnessed a significant 15% surge in passenger traffic compared to the same period last year, welcoming an impressive 6.2 million travelers. This robust growth, surpassing the national average, highlights a strong economic recovery and the airport’s strategic investments in enhancing infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Domestic routes to major cities like São Paulo, Brasília, Campinas, and Rio de Janeiro remained popular, while international travelers favored destinations in Portugal, Panama, and the United States. A particularly exciting development was the launch of a new direct route connecting Belo Horizonte to the picturesque Bariloche, Argentina, operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas, opening up new opportunities for tourism and cultural exchange.

Beyond passenger movement, Confins Airport’s Multimodal Logistics Hub has also experienced substantial growth. Cargo handling escalated by 18%, processing 10.6 tons of goods, with the total value of cargo reaching a staggering R$9.6 billion—a 26% increase. This surge is underpinned by innovative logistics solutions, including a new international road route facilitating trade across South America. The logistics hub is equipped with 24-hour surveillance, expansive customs and storage facilities, and specialized cold storage units, catering to diverse industry needs. Key cargo origins included the United States, China, and Germany, with the Life Sciences, Mining, and Automotive sectors leading the charge. Confins Airport’s continued expansion underscores its vital role in connecting Brazil to the world, both for people and commerce.
