The Brazilian domestic air travel market grew 2.3% in December, compared to the same period in 2011, which is the largest increase for the month since 2000. The number of seats offered, however decreased by 7.39% in the period.
Avianca and TRIP had the largest growth in demand with 66.96% and 11.42% respectively and the largest rate of occupation was by Avianca with 82.27% and TAM with 81.89%.
The Brazilian aviation market share remain highly concentrated among TAM and GOL with 43.66% and 34.42% respectively, with the remaining carriers loosing market from 24.48% in December 2011 to 21.92% in 2012.
