South African Airways and Africa World Airlines have signed an agreement to offer Nigerian travellers direct flights to Washington DC, USA.

The agreement between the both, SAA will going to issue one flight-ticket to passengers from either LagoSouth African Airways (SAA) and Africa World Airlines have signed an agreement to offer Nigerian travellers direct connection to Washington DC, USA.

SAA regional manger Ohis Ehimiaghe who heads west, central and north africs stated that “The South African Airways and Africa World Airlines partnership is the shortest gateway to travel to Washington, providing about 11-hour trip from West Africa to Washington and with the core values of reliability and exceptional service, both airlines are set to give passengers wonderful flying experience,”.

The deal is a great step for Africa World Airlines, which provides four weekly South African Airways-Accra-Washington flights and 37 frequencies weekly flights from Lagos and Abuja to Accra.

SAA National Sales Manager for Nigeria, Kemi Leke-Bamtefa, remarked that the agreement marks the beginning of a strong relationship as SAA had been in discussions with the airline.

A member of the Star Alliance, South African Airways (SAA) is the flag carrier airline of South Africa. In partnership with South African Express, Airlink and its low-cost carrier, Mango, currently, the airline flies to 56 destinations in South Africa, continental Africa and around the world, its hub is located in Johannesburg and it have a using fleet size of 47 aircraft.
