The airline plans to add extra capacity to four US destinations in the summer.

With TAP Air Portugal increasing its flight offer to the Americas in the summer of 2023, travel will be more convenient and affordable for everyone. Not to mention, the Portuguese State carrier will be restoring its pre-pandemic offer levels, making it even more attractive for travelers.

Increasing flights to the United States

Next year, TAP Air Portugal will fly to the United States, Venezuela, and Brazil. These three countries will be key markets for TAP Air, and as of December 2022, we offer 92 weekly flights to them.

The Portuguese airline, TAP, currently flies to Boston, Newark, JFK, MIA, O’Hare, and SFO from Lisbon International Airport. TAP flies to Porto from Newark, providing a convenient and efficient option for travelers.

Next year, TAP will offer 14 flights to Boston, five to Chicago, ten to Miami, and ten to Washington. The total number of flights to the United States next year will be ten more than in 2022. The capacity of TAP’s commercial service to New York’s Newark and JFK airports will remain the same next year.

What about Brazil?

Brazil is TAP Air’s largest market in the Americas, and the carrier has done a great job connecting the two countries culturally. TAP Air has partnerships with both Azul Linhas Aéreas (AD) and Portuguese carrier Azores Airlines.

The airline recovered 97% of its pre-pandemic traffic levels in the first 10 months of 2022.

TAP plans to offer four flights per week to Belém in the peak summer of 2023, one more than in 2022. It will also offer seven flights a week to Belo Horizonte, six to Salvador, six to Brasília, and 20 flights to São Paulo, which is two more than it offered in the same period last year in the other Brazilian cities where it operates.

What about Venezuela?

TAP Air Portugal announced that it will increase the number of flights to Caracas from two to three per week. This decision was made in order to improve the offer for the Portuguese community in Venezuela.

TAP Air Portugal is one of the most experienced and successful airlines in the world. With a fleet of 79 aircraft, TAP Air Portugal offers a wide range of options for travelers. In addition to its Airbus A330-900s, the airline also has five A319s, 15 A320ceos, 11 A320neos, three A321ceos, 24 A321neos (including 11 long ranges), and three A330-200s.
