LATAM Airlines Group and Embraer have officially presented the first Embraer E195-E2 destined for LATAM’s fleet, marking an important milestone in the airline’s regional growth strategy and strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two Brazilian aviation giants.
The aircraft was showcased during a special ceremony at Embraer’s facilities in São José dos Campos, where airline executives, government representatives, and industry stakeholders gathered to celebrate the occasion. The rollout highlights LATAM’s commitment to expanding connectivity across South America while improving operational efficiency and sustainability.
The E195-E2 is the largest member of Embraer’s advanced E-Jets E2 family and is recognized as one of the most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in the world. Powered by Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines, the aircraft consumes up to 25% less fuel than previous-generation regional jets, while also significantly reducing carbon emissions and noise levels.
For LATAM, the introduction of the E195-E2 will provide greater flexibility in serving regional and medium-density routes that may not require larger narrowbody aircraft such as the Airbus A320 family. The jet offers seating for approximately 132 passengers in a comfortable two-by-two configuration, eliminating middle seats and enhancing the passenger experience.
The delivery is part of LATAM’s broader fleet modernization plan, which includes a substantial order for Embraer aircraft announced earlier this year. The airline expects the new E195-E2 fleet to support network expansion throughout Brazil and neighboring South American markets, opening opportunities for new routes and increased frequencies on existing services.
The presentation of the first aircraft also represents a significant achievement for Brazil’s aerospace industry. Embraer continues to strengthen its position in the global regional aviation market, with the E2 family attracting customers worldwide due to its efficiency, performance, and environmental benefits.
As LATAM prepares to take delivery of additional E195-E2 aircraft in the coming years, passengers can look forward to improved connectivity, modern cabin amenities, and a more sustainable travel experience across the region.
