LATAM Airlines is expanding its European network with a new nonstop route connecting São Paulo, Brazil, and Geneva, Switzerland, beginning in April 2027. The service will operate three times weekly, making Geneva the airline’s 11th European destination.
LATAM Airlines Brasil announced on October 30, 2026, that it will introduce direct flights between São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Geneva Airport (GVA), strengthening air connectivity between Brazil and Switzerland.
The new route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, offering both Economy and Premium Business cabins. Tickets will become available for purchase on November 1, 2026, subject to government approval.
LATAM São Paulo–Geneva Flight Schedule
The new service will operate three times per week in each direction, with the following schedule:
São Paulo (GRU) to Geneva (GVA)
- Flight days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday
- Departure: 6:05 PM
- Arrival: 9:55 AM the following day
Geneva (GVA) to São Paulo (GRU)
- Flight days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Departure: 12:05 PM

All times are local and subject to change.
The flight schedule will allow travelers arriving in São Paulo to connect with LATAM’s extensive domestic network, including destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Salvador, Recife, and Florianópolis.
Geneva Becomes LATAM’s 11th European Destination
The addition of Geneva represents another milestone in LATAM’s international expansion.
In 2026, the airline introduced new nonstop services from São Paulo to Amsterdam and Brussels, further strengthening its presence in the European market.
With Geneva joining the network, LATAM Brasil will serve 11 European destinations:
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, and Rome.
The new Geneva route will also mark the first nonstop passenger connection between Geneva and South America.
Currently, SWISS International Air Lines operates nonstop flights between São Paulo and Zurich, providing the only direct air connection between Brazil and Switzerland.
LATAM’s new service will offer travelers an additional option, particularly those heading to western Switzerland, neighboring France, and the French Alps.
Strong Demand From Business and Leisure Travelers
Geneva is an important international center for diplomacy, finance, and business, hosting numerous multinational companies and international organizations, including several United Nations agencies.
The city also serves as a gateway to popular Swiss and French Alpine destinations, attracting Brazilian visitors throughout the year, particularly during the European ski season.
According to LATAM Brasil CEO Jerome Cadier, the new route reflects the airline’s strategy of expanding passenger and cargo connectivity with Europe while responding to growing demand for business and leisure travel.
The connection is also expected to benefit Switzerland’s Brazilian community and European travelers visiting Brazil and other South American countries.
New Opportunities for Air Cargo
Beyond passenger transportation, the Geneva route will create additional opportunities for international air cargo.
LATAM expects to offer approximately 55 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity from São Paulo to Geneva and 36 tonnes in the opposite direction.
The service will particularly benefit shipments of pharmaceuticals, temperature-sensitive medicines, industrial components, and other high-value products.
Direct flights could reduce transportation times by at least eight hours for certain shipments that currently require connections through other European airports.
LATAM Continues Expanding Its International Network
The Geneva announcement reinforces LATAM’s strategy of strengthening São Paulo/Guarulhos as a major international aviation hub connecting South America with Europe.
The airline’s recent expansion into Amsterdam, Brussels, and now Geneva demonstrates its focus on developing new long-haul markets beyond traditional European gateways.
For travelers, the additional nonstop service will provide more convenient access between Brazil and Switzerland while expanding connecting opportunities throughout South America.
Tickets for LATAM’s new São Paulo–Geneva flights are scheduled to go on sale November 1, 2026, with operations planned to begin in April 2027.
