The American Carrier Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group, based in Santiago, Chile have signed a trans-American Joint Venture Agreement. After regulatory approvals required are granted, will combine the carriers’ highly complementary routes between North and Latin America, which will provide customers with a seamless travel experience and industry-leading connectivity.

Despite the current challenges presented by the Covid 19 crisis, both carriers continue committed to the strategic agreement reached in 2019, and since September, both carriers have achieved various milestones in their plan and customer will start benefiting  soon of things such as:

Codeshare flights between Delta and LATAM’s affiliates in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil that will allow customers to purchase flights and access onward destinations in their respective networks. That will be expanded to cover long-haul flights between the United States/Canada and South America, as well as regional flights. Delta and LATAM’s affiliates in Chile and Argentina also plan to sign codeshare agreements in the coming weeks.

Frequent flyer members can earn and use miles on LATAM and Delta flights. The Reciprocal top tier loyalty recognition is expected to be available during June 2020.
