Delta Air Lines confirmed today that, it is taking order for 10 Airbus A350 jets from Latam Airlines Group, which the Latin American carriers had cancelled last week.  However, Delta deferred several of the deliveries dates and is  working with Airbus on other options.

Delta spokesperson said the 10 A350 planes would be delivered through 2025, and that the deal was possible because of Delta and Latam business partnership that was made public in 2019.

The official transfer of the large aircraft order, worth around $3 billion at list prices, happens at the same time Delta and other U.S. carriers are negotiating government aid to keep them afloat and meet their payroll costs while they try to handle the devastating blow the entire industry is going through due to the  coronavirus pandemic.
