TAM Airlines received the approval from ANAC to start code sharing with American Airlines. This was the last governmental approval required to start the operation, which has already been approved by the the US DOT. The date when the code sharing will start will be informed later.
The agreement between TAM and American was reached in December 2012, and when in place will allow TAM clients to travel to destinations in the US using American Airline’s flights from Miami,Orlando and New York, and also allow AA’s clients to reach destinations inside Brazil served by TAM.
TAM is currently in the process of leaving Star Alliance, and joining the One World. In New York, TAM has already relocated to the American terminal.
