Avianca Holdings signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for the acquisition of 100 aircraft 320neo. According to the airline, the category is the base of fleet renewal strategy.
“After a thorough technical evaluation, we chose the A320neo for excellent fuel efficiency, comfort and security,” said the CEO of Avianca, Fabio Villegas Ramirez. “These qualities are essential for our growth prospects in the future and are key elements for the modernization strategy of our fleet.”
Airbus also celebrates the agreement made with Avianca. “We feel privileged to work with Avianca in this important agreement,” said Airbus CEO Customers, John Leahy. “We are proud of the trust Avianca placed in the A320neo, its unbeatable productivity and efficiency in fuel management”.
In addition to Avianca, six other companies have agreed to receive A320neo in Latin America. They are: Blue Lan, Tam, Interjet, Viva Aerobus and Volaris. According to Airbus, 245 applications are in line for these airlines and more than 850 have been delivered worldwide.
