Azul Linhas Aéreas received its 17th Airbus A320Neo, configured for 174 passengers. The plane called Blue Ararinha left Toulouse in Franceand arrived in Brazil at Belo Horizonte’s airport (Confins). The company expects that the new equipment will be registered with the Brazilian authorities and be available to the company’s network by the end of the September.
Azul is expected to receive another 46 aircraft of this model over the
next five years. The new generation equipment is used by the company
in markets of greater demand and in routes with more than two hours of
duration. In addition, the A320neo consumes less fuel, reducing the costs
of operation per seat. According to the company’s vice president of revenue,
Abhi Shah, these planes come to add to the company’s operational strategy.
“Azul is transforming its fleet of aircraft with state-of-the-art ones.
The A320neo is an important part of this process and will allow the company to simultaneously grow its rout network and become more efficient. Customers
find the comfort of leather seats and the Espaco Azul, as well as the
company’s well-known on-board service, which offers snacks and drinks
at will and at no additional cost. Later this year, the new Airbus will receive
the SKY TV system live, present on all Azul flights on Embraer jets, on
individual monitors and with more than 40 channel options.
