The ultra-low-cost carrier currently offers three Brazilian destinations.
Flybondi Airlines has announced that it is increasing its connectivity to Brazil by adding a new flight between Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) and Florianópolis International Airport (FLN). This will make it easier for Argentinians and Brazilians to travel to each other’s countries, making the two countries even closer.
More connectivity
Flybondi Airlines has announced that it will be adding a second daily flight between Buenos Aires and Florianópolis, Brazil. This new flight will be available until March 14, 2023. After that, the airline will only serve a daily flight until April 10.
With flights operating seasonally on a Boeing 737-800, Flybondi has a capacity for 189 passengers in a single-class environment. The routes to Brazil offered by Flybondi currently all depart from Buenos Aires Ezeiza International. The airline serves three Brazilian cities: Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. The airline serves as an important link between the two countries and operates commercial scheduled passenger flights between them.
Flybondi’s strong performance in 2022
According to airline data, Flybondi had the highest load factor among the country’s top three carriers. This means that their flights were filled almost to capacity, compared to the other two carriers. In 2022, Flybondi had a strong performance, increasing its number of flights, routes, and fleet. The Argentinian ULCC, which had received several aircraft, closed the year with a fleet of eleven Boeing 737-800s. Additionally, Flybondi set in motion an investment plan that will allow the company to continue growing.
Flybondi expects to add more aircraft in the next few years, and it has already carried six million passengers in 2017. The airline expects to keep growing, and it currently has a fleet of 17 aircraft.
Flybondi increased its market share in Argentina by 21% by the end of the year. This helped the company grow its revenue by 66% in 2016. Argentine airlines continue to dominate the domestic airline market, with Aerolíneas Argentinas holding a 63% share. However, newcomer Flybondi has seen significant growth throughout the year, reaching 15% market share.
Flybondi is a relatively unknown airline that only operates services to Brazil. Its competitors, Aerolíneas Argentinas and JetSMART, operate services to a wider range of destinations across Latin America.
