Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has allowed JetSmart Argentina to start scheduled international operations in the nation.
On 6 December, ULCC plans to operate the first flight between Brazil and Argentina. Which will connect Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini (EZE) to Rio de Janeiro Galeo (GIG). The service will be thrice a week initially, likely to increase to 4 times by the end of the month.
Regulatory changes have been made by the agency in the last few years which have made the national market more attractive and also increased competition. ANAC said in its statement. The Argentine carrier from the Jetsmart group will become the second airline to fly to Brazil with the Chilean parent company.
JetSMART Chile
The business had suspended all its process in Brazil throughout the COVID-19 health emergency, & for short periods operated to Foz do Iguaçu. By December it would recover this last destination & launch a new one: Rio de Janeiro.
The company’s introductory flights to Brazil took place in December 2019, linking Santiago (SCL) through Salvador (SSA) followed by Foz do Iguacu (IGU) the next month.
JetSmart’s service between Chile & Brazil has been suspended as of April 2022, but data given by OAG Schedules Analyser confirms that Santiago-Foz does Iguacu flights are slated to start again in December, running twice a week.
