LATAM Announces Major International & Domestic Expansion: New Routes to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Cape Town

LATAM Airlines is entering a new phase of global growth with one of its most ambitious expansions of the decade. The carrier confirmed it will launch long-haul flights from São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU) to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Cape Town, dramatically strengthening Brazil’s connectivity with Europe and Africa.

Alongside the international expansion, the airline is also adding four new domestic destinations, bringing LATAM’s coverage to 63 airports across Brazil, its largest domestic network ever.

New Intercontinental Routes from São Paulo

With Brazil’s outbound travel demand climbing and São Paulo consolidating its position as Latin America’s primary intercontinental hub, LATAM is moving quickly to capture new markets:

Amsterdam (AMS)

A strategic northern-Europe gateway, Amsterdam offers world-class connectivity across Europe, Asia, and Africa. The route is expected to attract strong business and leisure demand, especially from travelers connecting to the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and beyond.

Brussels (BRU)

This addition marks LATAM’s return to Belgium and positions Brussels as a new option for Brazilian travelers heading to continental Europe. Brussels offers fast links to France, Germany, Luxembourg, and EU institutions, making the route particularly appealing for government, corporate, and diplomatic travelers.

Cape Town (CPT)

Cape Town is one of the most requested leisure destinations among Brazilian travelers and a growing business link for trade, energy, and tourism. LATAM will be the only South American airline offering direct flights to Cape Town, strengthening the connection between Brazil and South Africa.

Flight schedules and launch dates will be announced in the coming weeks, with operations expected to begin progressively throughout 2026.

Four New Domestic Destinations – 63 Airports Served in Brazil

LATAM also confirmed a significant expansion of its domestic network, adding four new Brazilian cities (to be revealed shortly), increasing its total footprint to 63 destinations nationwide. This solidifies LATAM’s leadership in domestic coverage among Brazil’s largest carriers and enhances connectivity between secondary cities and the international gateway at São Paulo/Guarulhos.

The expansion aligns with LATAM’s strategy of integrating new regional jets and increasing frequencies across key domestic corridors.

Strengthening Brazil’s Role as a Global Hub

These new international routes reinforce São Paulo/Guarulhos as one of the most connected airports in the Southern Hemisphere. With nonstop flights to destinations across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and soon the Middle East, LATAM continues to position Brazil as a major global aviation hub.

For travelers, this means more choices, shorter travel times, and expanded access to some of the world’s most dynamic cities.
