The first A350 XWB for TAM Airlines left the Airbus paint shop in Toulouse, on Tuesday (15), revealing the aircraft with the company’s livery red, white and blue. The next aircraft production steps include the installation of engines, cabin furniture finishing and assembly of the cockpit before starting their ground tests and flight. The delivery of the aircraft to TAM is scheduled to take place in December this year.
TAM will be the first airline in the Americas to fly with the A350 XWB and the fourth to operate the model in the world. The LATAM Airlines Group, created from the combination between LAN and TAM Airlines companies Airlines, has already ordered 27 A350-900 models.
TAM will perform flights with the A350 XWB, from January 2016, between Sao Paulo and Manaus. As a result, international operations on the route Sao Paulo – Miami and Sao Paulo – Madrid will also have the equipment. The aircraft will have 348 seats, of which 318 in Economy Class and 30 in Premium Business.
