Starting August 11, TAM Airlines will stop its direct service between Rio de Janeiro and Frankfurt, and Rio de Janeiro and Paris.. According to the airline, the decision was made based on demand and operation costs for the routes.
TAM officially requested the suspension for the routes to Brazil’s ANAC, and already stopped selling seats. According to TAM, all passengers with tickets for those flights will be reaccommodated on other flights, or get a full refund.
Passengers to Paris can fly via Sao Paulo, where TAM is increasing the number of seats to the French capital with the arrival of the new Boeing 777, which has 363 seats, compared to only 223 for the current Airbus 330. Clients to Frankfurt will also be able to travel via Sao Paulo, where the carrier already operates a B777.
