I’ve been a longtime customer of Brazilian Airlines and I can’t recommend them highly enough. They are fast, reliable, and relatively cheap. But if you’re considering traveling to Brazil, consider going with one of their many sister airlines: GOL, LATAM, and TAM. You’ll be glad you did! Read on to learn why I chose them and what they have to offer.

AVIANCA

AVIANCA Brazilian Airlines was an airline based in So Paulo, Brazil. It was owned by Oceanair Linhas Aéreas S/S. The airline operated flights between Rio de Janeiro and So Paulo. Its main hub was Congonhas Airport. Its fleet of planes flew to a number of destinations in South America. Founded in 1954, the airline is one of the largest in the world.

GOL

Why I chose to fly with Brazilian Airlines? The company is one of the largest in the country, and one of the most popular in South America. Its flights earn you AAdvantage miles on American Airlines flights, and you can earn miles on flights operated by GOL Airlines as well. The amount of miles you earn depends on the length of the flight, as well as the fare class you’re flying in. Loyalty Points are also counted towards AAdvantage (r) status.

LATAM

LATAM Airlines Brasil is the Brazilian airline that was formerly known as TAM Linhas Aéreas. It is now part of the LATAM Airlines Group, and is one of the largest airlines in the country. In 2007, LATAM Airlines Brasil was awarded the title of Brazil’s best airline. It is also the fifth largest airline in the world, so it is definitely a good choice for travelers from Brazil and around the world.

TAM

When you’re looking for a cheap flight from New York to Rio, you should consider flying with Brazilian Airlines. The airline is relatively new to the South American market, but has become one of the largest and most affordable carriers in the region. It serves many cities in the country and is one of the few to feature live entertainment systems on board. There are a number of reasons to fly with this airline, and I’ll explain some of them below.

Varig

In 1927, VARIG became the first airline in Brazil and rose to the top position as one of the leading international airlines. From 1965 until 1990, VARIG was the only international airline operating in Brazil. It was also the only airline with international routes. Its eponymous logo is a reminder of a time when air travel in the Americas was a luxury. Despite this, today’s Brazilian air travelers enjoy the convenience and affordability of a low-cost airline.
