It seems American Airlines is expanding its network by entering into codeshare agreements with different airlines across the world. One of the most recent collaborations is with GOL Airlines this year for the next 3 years at a stretch.
New Connections of American Airlines
At the start of this year, American Airlines entered into a codeshare agreement with Aer Lingus to strengthen its network in Europe. According to this deal, American Airlines will offer code to the aircraft of Aer Lingus that will be flying between London and Dublin.
Similarly, American Airlines also did a codeshare agreement with GOL Airlines for a duration of the next 3 years. According to the agreement, this Brazilian airline will have better networking now in North America and South America.
The Codeshare Agreement
As per the recent codeshare agreement, American Airlines invested about $200m in GOL to acquire 5.3% of the stake. Also, the airlines have signed an agreement as per which some members of American Airlines can be a part of the board of directors at GOL Airlines.
Apart from the American Airlines GOL has also entered into a partnership with Air France to offer better convenience to the customers.
Currently, the partnership flights of GOL and American Airlines are operations from the two eminent Brazilian airports that are Rio de Janerio and Sao Paulo. These flights offer as many as 34 options for air travel in Brazil as well as for different international routes.
GOL Services
There have been different Brazilian airlines today offering constant services to domestic as well as international passengers. Apart from constant transport service, options such as GOL Airlines also claim that it offers flights to the passengers in Latin America at a much lower cost for a long time such as from the year 2001.
Apart from the passenger transportation services, GOL is also known for its parcel delivery service which is named GOLLOG. This particular service provider offers the service of transporting parcels in different parts of Brazil.
As GOL has stood up as a reliable name in Brazil, it is all set to offer its services to other parts of the world too now. Of course, noticing its services, many other airlines such as Air France and American Airlines are entering into a codeshare agreement with GOL, which is helping it spread its networking to many other parts of the world such as North America, South America, and different parts of Europe.
