Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras expand its presence in Guarulhos, in São Paulo, with the addition of daily flights and nonstop bound to Ribeirao Preto, Uberlândia and Juiz de Fora (Zona da Mata). The company requested the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) the operation of new routes, which will premiere on October 26. With the new features, customers will have the Azul international connection option with direct flight to Orlando departing from Guarulhos, which begins on December 15. That way, it will be possible to fly to more than 350 destinations served by United Airlines – Azul already sells United Airlines air tickets.
After ANAC’s approval, Azul will operate three daily flights to Ribeirao Preto, two to Uberlândia and one to Juiz de Fora. This way, the company will approach 60 connections per day in Guarulhos and will reach 21 cities nonstop from São Paulo terminal, which will also enhance the options for domestic connections – the international airport of São Paulo is the third largest base for Azul, positioned behind Campinas and Belo Horizonte (Confins) Airports only).

“The reinforcement of our operations in Guarulhos Airport will provide more connectivity with domestic destinations, besides the international flights Azul and United. It is also an important additional option especially for those seeking to do business in the largest metropolis of the country or connect to different regions of Brazil through our third largest operations center, “said the director of Planning and Alliances for Azul, Marcelo Bento.
The new flights will be operated by modern turboprop ATR 72-600 with 70 seats.

Azul will debut the second daily frequency to Joinville, Santa Catarina from Guarulhos on October 26. The new operation also depends on the approval of ANAC and will be held by ATR 72-600 (a twin-engine turboprop short-haul regional airliner built by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR).
