GOL Airline’s Operations director, Pedro Scorza said today during a safety workshop that, the company spends about 4 Billion Brazilian Reais (about U$2 Billion) per year in aviation fuel, or about 43% of the company’s expenses.

According to Scorza, several measures are adopted to improve operational costs for the over 970 daily flights GOL operates, including Air Traffic Management (ATM) which looks into finding shorter routes between airports, and RNP (Required Navigation performance).

We currently save 4.1 thousand tons of of fuel per year, which represents 0.18%, nut the company wants to reach a 0.30$ savings.
