Viracopos Airport reaches 6 million passengers mark

Viracopos International Airport located in the city of Campinas – Sao Paulo, reached the mark of 6.121,395 passengers in the month of August 2013. The number is 4.31% higher over the same period last year, when 5,868,313 people traveled by the terminal. In the month of August this year, 804,158 chose to travel Congonhas airport, while in the same month of 2012 were 755,635, an increase of 6.42%.The aircraft taffic during the first eight months of the year also increased compared to 2012. 2013 were 82,915 takeoffs and landings, against 77,230 in the same period last year, an increase of 7.36%.

To receive the increasing flow of passengers and aircraft trafic, the concessionaire Airports Brazil Viracopos invests in safety, comfort and convenience in the current passenger terminal, while building a new terminal with a capacity of 14 million passengers per year, which will be opened in May 2014.
