Gol’s president, Paulo Kakinoff, declared on September 17 that the company is having advanced talks with Boeing on a possibility to acquire  737-900 aircrafts. However no orders have been made so far.

“We have advanced studies with Boeing about the possibility of having the 900 aircrafts, also possibly the MAX 9, which is 900’s substitute” said Kakinoff.

Currently, the company’s fleet has aircraft versions 737-700 and 737-800.
While the 900 model has a maximum capacity of 220 passengers, the 800 holds 189 seats, while the 700 allows loading of up to 149 passengers.
