Travelers departing from Guarulhos Airport will have access to a
new metro rail line starting October 16, a new option in the comings
and goings of their itineraries. The long awaited Airport Express,
operated by CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos),
will have its first departure at 10am, departing from Luz station.
The journey, all made by the recently inaugurated Line 13, will
connect directly to the Guarulhos Airport station with Luz Station
and offers transfers to several other Metro rail lines. According to
CPTM, the trip will last approximately 35 minutes. The ticket costs
R$8 (Brazilian Real) per way and can be purchased at both stations.
The Airport Express will run Monday through Friday, with restricted
operations. At Luz Station, the exits towards Guarulhos will be made
on platform 5 in five schedules: 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 10pm.
The return trip, leaving platform 2 of Aeroporto-Guarulhos station, will
be at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 9pm.
The Service called CONNECT that operates on the same Line 13,
connects the airport to Bras Station from Monday to Saturday and
has been operating since the beginning of the month. The ticket follows
the regular fare of the metrorail system, which currently is R$4
(Brazilian Real). In Bras Station it is possible to change to other metro
rail lines.
