On December 16, LATAM Airlines Peru operated its first direct flight between Lima, Peru and Barcelona, in a Boeing 767 aircraft with a capacity of 232 passengers. It departed from Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, and landed at El Prat airport in Barcelona at 02:05pm (local time). The operation between the two cities happens three times a week.
The Lima-Barcelona route will complement the non-stop daily flights of the LATAM Airlines Group and its subsidiaries between Sao Paulo/Guarulhos and Barcelona. In addition to these routes, the company also offers flights from Lima, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Guayaquil (Ecuador) to Madrid, where passengers can connect to Barcelona through Oneworld partner companies. As an option, the LATAM Group also operates direct flights to four other European cities from Latin America: London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan.
LATAM estimates that more than 63.500 passengers will fly annually for the new Lima-Barcelona service. The flight will be operated by Boeing 767-3 airplanes with 216 economy class seats and 16 executive class seats, offering 180 degree reclining seats. The seats in all classes feature in-flight entertainment systems with individual touch screen, offering a wide selection of movies, TV series, music and games. Premium Business passengers will be able to enjoy priority airport services, large lie-flat seats and a menu of newly designed wines that showcase Latin American products.
