Azul Linhas Aéreas has announced an order for four additional Airbus A330-900neo widebody aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to international growth and fleet modernization. The new order increases Azul’s backlog of A330neo aircraft to 11 units and confirms the model as the backbone of the airline’s future long-haul operations.
The announcement comes just days after Azul received the first aircraft from its latest A330neo order. The aircraft, registered as PR-ANU, was delivered from Airbus’ assembly facility in Toulouse, France, and is expected to enter commercial service during June. A second aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year, with the remaining jets arriving gradually over the coming years.
The Airbus A330-900neo offers significant improvements in fuel efficiency and operating economics compared to previous-generation widebody aircraft. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the aircraft can fly up to 13,300 kilometers (7,200 nautical miles) nonstop, making it ideal for connecting Brazil with destinations in North America and Europe.
Azul currently serves more than 137 destinations and has steadily expanded its international network over recent years. The airline plans to use the new A330neo fleet to increase capacity on existing long-haul routes while supporting future expansion opportunities between Brazil, the United States, Europe, and other international markets.
Passengers traveling aboard Azul’s A330neo aircraft benefit from Airbus’ modern Airspace cabin, featuring larger overhead bins, customizable lighting, advanced inflight entertainment systems, and high-speed connectivity. The airline’s newest configuration includes 298 seats across Business, Economy Extra, and Economy classes, offering a competitive product for long-haul travelers.
With this latest order, Azul continues to position itself for sustained international growth while operating one of the most modern fleets in Latin America.
